Canton Community Theatre
2018 Summer Theatre Workshop


This year our Summer Theatre Workshop will run for two - one week sessions.

Session 1:  July 23, 2018 - July 27, 2018
Session 2:  July 30, 2018 - August 3, 2018
Time:  9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Children (ages 7-12): $220 / week. (includes materials)
Director in Training (ages 13-17): $100 / week. Students will have an opportunity to learn leadership skills (Limit 4 D.I.T. per session).

Escape the summer blah's (and the heat) by immersing yourself in the wonderful world of theatre! Participants will spend the day playing drama games, sharpening their acting skills, rehearsing, creating costumes and props for their show, and of course, making friends.

Daily Schedule
9:00 - 10:15
Check-In, Warm up games  
10:15 - 12:00
Rehearsal/Create talent show acts  
12:00 - 12:30
Lunch and chill time (bring your favorite card games or crafts)  
12:30 - 1:45
Rehearsal, games, acting skills, props and costume instruction  
Pick up  
  Participants should bring a lunch, snack and water bottle, games or crafts to share, and are encouraged to leave electronics at home.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for full movement, and sneakers or closed-toed sandals.

Instructor:  Aoife Barrington-Haber earned her MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College and has been teaching and directing in the Boston area for over fifteen years, including the Boston Children’s Theatre, DramaKids MetroWest, the Butler School (Belmont) Afterschool Enrichment Program, Riverdale School (Dedham), and PALS Jr Chorus in Brookline. Offstage she has worked for nine years as a UU Religious Educator. She loves helping kids discover their unique gifts and appreciate the gifts of others through collaborative theatre.
