September 1934, Cleveland , Ohio. It’s a big night for the Cleveland Opera House, world famous tenor Tito Morelli is set to perform Othello his greatest role, Saunders, the general manager, hopes this will put Cleveland on the operatic map.
Morelli arrives to late for rehearsal with the company. Through a series of hilarious mishaps Morelli is given a double dose of tranquilizers which mix with the booze he has consumed causing him to pass out. His pulse is so low that Saunders thinks he’s dead. Saunders convinces aspiring singer Max to put on the costume and take the stage as Morelli. And then Morelli wakes and puts on his second costume so there are now two Othello’s running around. It will be a night Cleveland will never forget.
