Canton Community Theatre
Announces Auditions for Our
Winter Production

CCT is thrilled to announce auditions for our Winter Comedy “The Fabulous Lipitones” by John Marcus and John St. Germain; music by Randy Courts; lyrics by Mark St. Germain and presented by arrangement with Dramatist Play Service, Inc.

We are holding auditions for The Fabulous Lipitones on December 16 and 17, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. at our location in The Village Shoppes at 95 Washington St. in Canton.

The Fabulous Lipitones performance dates are February 28 and 29, 2020 and March 1, 6, and 7, 2020.

What happens when a barbershop quartet loses a key member to a heart-stopping high B-flat? The three surviving members are scrambling to find a tenor before a national competition. When they hear golden tones being sung over the phone at an auto body shop, the three Lipitor’s left are sure they have their fourth! When they meet him in person, he’s not quite what they expected. An uproarious comedy that puts a fusty American musical genre into today’s globalized, sensationalistic world.

Phil Rizzardi, owner of Phil’s Eternally Fit Gym and Tanning Salon; 50’s

Howard Dunphy, accountant at the Purina Dog Chow processing plant outside of town ; 50’s

Wally Smith, head pharmacist of an independent drugstore in Madison County; 50’s

Baba Mati Singh (Bob), a mechanic at Ralph’s Gas N Git Automotive ; 20’s

Please come to auditions prepared with a 1 minute comedic monologue and a little bit of acapella singing to Yankee Doodle:

Yankee Doodle went to town
A-riding on a pony
Stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroni
Yankee Doodle, keep it up
Yankee Doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handy
Father and I went down to camp
Along with Captain Gooding
And there we saw the men and boys
As thick as hasty pudding
Yankee Doodle, keep it up
Yankee Doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handy
